The City of Kettering is seeking an exceptional professional with a proven track record to fill the Regular Full-Time position of Human Resource Coordinator. Reporting directly to and working under the general supervision of the Human Resource Director, this individual will perform both professional and technical-level work related to complex medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits administration; benefit trends and analysis; recruitment, employee orientations and onboarding; assist employees with benefits related concerns; administer the Employee Wellness Program and budget; input personnel action changes into an HR/Payroll system; as well as other human resource aspects. Must be knowledgeable of industry trends related to major benefit programs such as life insurance; OPERS; OP&F; medical, dental and vision insurance; FSA, HSA and HRA accounts and COBRA. Current knowledge of all employee benefits, City policy, Civil Service rules, negotiated contracts, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, ADA, HIPPA and Equal Opportunity Act must be maintained to provide guidance and recommendations; and continuous efforts must be made to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

Work is generally performed with much latitude and the incumbent is expected to be a solution-focused team player with excellent problem-solving skills that demonstrates strong leadership qualities, confidence, maturity, flexibility, independent judgment and professionalism.

Qualifications: Strong abilities in the operation of personal computers and applicable software; ability to create and maintain accurate paper and electronic records; ability to process information with strong attention to detail; ability to gather, organize and analyze data and prepare informative reports; and the ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner and meet deadlines are required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong personal initiative and an enthusiastic approach to human resources and to all those served by the Human Resource Department. A Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in human resource management, business or public administration, psychology or other closely related field from an accredited college or university required with experience in professional human resource management work, preferably in a public sector human resource department; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
