Project Overview:

Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI), Bechtel’s government services business, is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

UPF will be built by 2025 for $6.5 billion and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future. 

We are currently on 4 days a week 10 hour a day schedule, which is subject to change at any time.

Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will assist the Project IS&T Manager to define, design, and implement complex IT Service Management processes. You will oversee process metrics, review and prioritize opportunities for development, and drive process improvements. Your management of IT Services will ensure alignment with established strategy for value, customer satisfaction, and service level objective performance. #LI-LO1

Major Responsibilities:

• Provides technical direction and work assignments to Project IT subordinates who perform Project IT activities
• Maintains contact with users and contractors to provide automation support
• Maintains working knowledge of automation equipment hardware, software, and networks and participates in the review of automation products and tools for project use.
• Manage inventory of IT hardware and participate in annual hardware audits
• Manage the process to stage computers for installation by applying standard images and baseline software
• Interfaces with the client’s networking team to manage deployment of network infrastructure in support of construction initiatives
• Act as a liaison between users, UPF IT, client-support teams, and Bechtel-support teams
• Provide training to users on the use of automation hardware, software, connectivity
• Install and configure desktop computers, CAD workstations and associated peripheral devices for end users
• Work with the Deskside support team to resolve all open tickets within an average of 8 business hours.
• Manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment
• Provide administration and support for Microsoft Authenticator and Bechtel VMWare
• Management of UPF Project file shares
• Provide support to project management for project-wide meetings
• Apply mastery of techniques and methods of troubleshooting end-user problems with proven ability to achieve problem resolution
• Manages IT projects as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience

Level 2

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience supporting executive-level management
• High level of discretion and ability to work with confidential information is required
• Strong problem solving and end-user support skills
• Experience performing desktop hardware and software setup and configuration
• Highly organized and a responsible time manager
• Ability to document in written format technical processes in a clear and concise manner
• Experience with asset inventory management
• Experience with Active Directory
• Understanding of data network concepts and terminology
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems, protocols, and support
• Experience with video conferencing systems, protocols, and support, including Polycom hardware.
• Experience with Mobile Device Management, including iOS and Android devices using AirWatch.
• Experience with imaging techniques
• Experience with the deployment and maintenance of DataVaults
• Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating System certification, A+, or Network+ certification
• Experience troubleshooting Citrix client and Virtual Private Networking (VPN) remote access problems
• Excellent customer service and support skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
