Job Overview

As a Business Development Manager, Emerging Markets, your primary role will involve driving the implementation of the Mining Technology Solutions sales strategy in emerging markets within the North America region. You will formulate and execute deliberate strategies and tactics to identify prospective strategic clients and foster new avenues for sales growth. Establishing and nurturing effective relationships across internal business units within the Komatsu group will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, enabling the creation of Unique and unrivalled value propositions from conceptualization through to closure and project initiation.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Prospecting New Sales Opportunities: Identify and develop new sales opportunities in emerging markets through industry knowledge, contacts, trade shows, and collaboration with Komatsu personnel.
  • Achieving Sales Quotas: Meet and exceed sales quotas by securing recurring revenues and managing opportunities accurately through company business systems.
  • Ensuring Customer Satisfaction: Deliver accurate and timely outputs to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Contributing to Forecasting: Accurately forecast your opportunities.
  • Building Strategic Relationships: Initiate, build, and leverage key strategic relationships to drive business growth.
  • Managing Opportunities: Oversee the opportunity process, including account planning, territory planning, call planning, and effective opportunity management.
  • Developing Business Cases: Create compelling business cases, deliver technical proposals, and negotiate Annual Recurring Revenue.
  • Contract Negotiation: Conduct effective contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and ensure successful deal closures.
  • Advancing Sales Opportunities: Advance targeted sales opportunities, improve regional win rates and market share, and scale strategic relationships.
  • Maintaining Business Systems: Ensure compliance with business systems and maintain accurate records in Salesforce based on company policies, processes, and management directives. #MTS1
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the mining industry and/or mining technology.
  • 5+ years of previous account management experience, preferably relating to the mining industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales.
  • Proactivity, creativity, and focus on finding the solution to challenges.
  • Accountability.
  • Extensive administrative skillset with attention to detail.
  • Solid experience with CRM tools and their use, preferably with Salesforce.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability for effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • Planning/organizing, prioritizes, and plans work activities.
