What will I do in this position?

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
ENGAGEMENT (85 ý 90%):
* Maintain polite and professional communication with staff and community partners in-person, via phone, e-mail, and mail.
* Demonstrate passion for the Fargo/Moorhead community by being a friendly and welcoming presence to listeners at community events which, at times, will be outside normal working hours.
* Work collaboratively with team members on all joint tasks and projects.
* In coordination with the Engagement Director, acquire new listeners and strengthen the stationýs relationship with current and new listeners.
* In coordination with the Engagement Director, develop, plan, and coordinate all Engagement efforts including community outreach events, on-air promotion, digital and social media efforts, marketing and other station related initiatives. To include creating/scheduling/editing graphics and videos.
* Coordinate with Home Office support team regarding website, social media, etc. Manage online community requests including the Life 97.9 Community Calendar, window sticker, giveaways/prizes and items, as needed.
* Assist the Engagement Director to Execute booth needs for concerts, sticker stops and other events. Packing and maintaining promotional items, stickers, backdrops, tables, banners, brochures, etc.
* Organize and keep promotion documents, including contest rules, event summaries, prize forms and after-action reports up-to-date.
* Recruit, train, and manage the Life 97.9 volunteers for events and engagement-related administrative projects as needed.

ON-AIR HOST (10 ý 15%):
* Voice track on-air shift(s) as assigned by the Program Director. Providing compelling content for the target demographic within station format guidelines, as determined by the Program Director. Preparation time is required.
* Participate in regular air-check/coaching meetings with Program Director to identify strengths, weaknesses and any changes necessary to reach the target audience and grow on air.
* Because our community is a significant part of our mission and the development of our students, all employees act as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ by actively partnering with the University to disciple students in growing intellectually and spiritually, and with Northwestern Media to lead people to Christ and nurture believers to mature in their faith.

What will it take to succeed in this position?
Minimum Education and Experience:
* High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelorýs degree or equivalent preferred
* Internship and/or work experience in promotions, marketing or customer relations required
* Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwesternýs mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, kind and tactful manner
* Ability to work independently without close supervisor or direction, yet as part of a team
* Creative problem solver with ability to take initiative and ownership of tasks and projects, seeing them through to completion
* Strong attention to detail with ability to work in an organized manner
* Ability to gather data and compile information, prepare reports, and maintain confidential information
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to represent KFNW / Northwestern Media at various events
* Ability to maintain a flexible schedule working occasional weekends and evenings as needed for events
* Intermediate computer proficiency (including spreadsheets)
* Ability to secure and maintain a current, valid driverýs license and automobile
* Ability to maintain Northwestern Driver Certification for driving station van
* Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
