Team Playmaker (âPlaymakerâ) is hiring a VP, Partnership Sales to play a key role in our organization. Playmaker works with marquee properties across professional sports, entertainment, media and lifestyle delivering innovative solutions to create integrated and meaningful partnerships. The comprehensive slate of consulting and sales execution services includes delivering athlete marketing rights, naming and venue entitlement positions, premier event partnerships, emerging media platforms, jersey sponsorships, and more.

The Role:
Playmaker is looking to identify a VP, Partnership Sales to be an integral member of the team and drive growth across our entire portfolio of properties. The VP will be responsible for driving revenue through all available commercial inventory across the portfolio. The successful candidate will have a proven track-record in building effective partnerships, as well as an established reputation for driving commercial success through multi-property and multi-platform businesses.

Team Structure:
The foundation of Playmaker is rooted in a team-centric approach to revenue generation. It is required that every member of the department has the ability and desire to collaborate with others, share responsibilities outside of their core functions, celebrate wins and learn from losses as a team, and seek to create a culture of accountability, innovation, integrity, and high-performance.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for generating sponsorship revenue for clients [sports, entertainment, media & lifestyle properties
  • Lead all facets of the sales process, including strategy development, identifying new and emerging categories, prospect outreach, presentations, negotiating, and closing partnership
  • Create and enhance non-traditional revenue streams that lead to new monetizable commercial assets
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Execute effective corporate sales calls and presentations to meet established sales objectives
  • Oversee and maintain relationships with right-holder clients
  • Create sales plans to bring to market effectively
  • Manage and lead account sales team to implement the goals and objectives of the client/property

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of sponsorship sales experience
  • Successful track history of selling sports and/or entertainment sponsorships
  • Expertise in identifying opportunities and developing strategies
  • Institutional knowledge and deep understanding of the sponsorship industry
  • Exemplary problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
  • Must have a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts
  • BS/BA degree required
  • Proficient in MS Suite
  • Salesforce/CRM capabilities
  • Ability to travel for applicable client and prospective sponsor meetings
  • NYC based strongly preferred
