PURPOSE: COR Team works with our Global Footprint to lead manufacturing technology and operational improvements. COR Team specialists are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in given areas of our business and are relied on to lead projects, monitor areas of our business, teach and mentor teams, as well as to advance standardization, Operational Excellence, and state of the art technologies. This specific COR Team Specialist role will be focused on MIG Wire manufacturing.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

-Work with other COR Team members to develop Consumable Playbooks and researching and developing new lines using the latest advancements and technology (Lines of the Future/LOF).
-Work with other COR Team members to provide technical, production, operations, and engineering support to Lincoln's global manufacturing operations.
-Assist with Global benchmarking and standardization programs related to Consumable processes.
-Serve as interface between design and final product launch of Consumable products at Lincoln Global facilities – either as a new design product (from a Lincoln Global R&D project) or an established product transferred from one Lincoln facility to be produced in another.
-Assist with instruction of on-site product evaluation of consumable products - for conformance to proper weld ability performance, customer requirements, and industry standards.
-Support and coordinate Technology Transfer projects throughout Lincoln Global.
-Develop financial models/justification, facilitate Capital Account Request (CAR) approvals, and manage approved spending for assigned projects. Train and mentor site personnel on Lincoln’s corporate CAR process and supporting documentation & analysis.
-Support Global operations in quoting/designing international equipment and replacement parts.
-Other engineering projects to coordinate among departments in Lincoln Global operations: Assist Global facilities with support of consumable product lines
-Support Sales/Marketing initiatives of Consumables at Global operation
-Start-up of newly installed production equipment
-Layouts and facility maintenance
-Quality assurance and EHS compliance to related ISO standards
-Other duties as assigned.
-Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.
 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

-BS degree in Engineering required
-Minimum 8 years engineering experience in GMAW Consumable R&D environment, and/or Manufacturing Engineering.
-Consumable Focused Knowledge of the shop floor processes and related equipment (GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, or SAW): Welding certificate, or willing to attend Welding School to acquire hands on skills in welding consumables.
-Experience beyond Consumables is desirable. Quality, Operations, Machines, etc.
-Highly motivated, organized, and ability to work independently or in groups with minimal supervision. Possess a commitment to quality improvement and cost reduction through product and process improvements, simplification, and standardization.
-Results oriented person with hands-on abilities.
-Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work with diverse groups and achieve goals; Ability to work as teacher with local teams for any on-site training necessary.
-Strong written communication skills: ability to clearly communicate internationally through e-mails and working with others internationally to develop work instructions.
-Foreign language skills are beneficial.
-Good computer skills:  CAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and the ability to learn SAP
-A positive outlook on project ownership, overcoming obstacles, and improving the manufacturing   environment.
-Lean Process Management background desirable.
-Overseas travel is required.
-Able to travel 25 – 50% although periodically could exceed this amount depending on a specific project needs.
