About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of patient safety programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate the activities of the Patient Safety Committee, including the review and analysis of clinical data sets.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Executive Officer and the Safety Committee.
  • Report medical errors and near misses, as well as corrective actions taken.
  • Oversee the management and use of medical error information.
  • Review internal error reports and utilize information from external reporting programs to identify and manage patient safety issues.
  • Participate in sentinel event process and develop action plans identified through root cause analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of related experience with Quality Management, Risk Management/Patient Safety, and Performance Improvement programs or related healthcare experience.
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) within one year of hire.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in principles of risk management, quality, and performance improvement methods.
