We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Vice President Product Marketing to join our team. The Product Marketing organization is the "connective tissue" between the Arcserve Product, Support, Marketing and Sales organizations: we work hard to understand market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes and then ideate, develop and implement innovative marketing strategies that elevate our brand, increase sales success, and drive revenue.

The Vice President, Product Marketing leads the Arcserve Product Marketing Team. Under his/her leadership, and in close collaboration with teams across the company, this organization will deliver on its commitment to effectively position and promote Arcserve's products to target audiences, drive customer engagement, and ultimately contribute to the overall success and growth of the company.

The Vice President, Product Marketing is accountable for defining the marketing strategy, delivering product positioning and messaging, developing go-to-market plans, and driving a cross-functional team to successfully execute these plans.

Here is what we need our Vice President Product Marketing to do:

  • Be the recognized product marketing and business expert for Arcserve's offerings
  • Lead the PMM team from the front: as a player-coach, roll up own sleeves to get the work done
  • Define the offering launch strategy and lead its marketing (and cross-functional) execution
  • Bring insights from the front-line (sellers), from partners and customers back to Arcserve, and help shape Arcserve's product and offering strategy in collaboration with senior leaders across the company
  • Develop go-to-market plans, incorporating activities related to awareness, customer acquisition and retention, and pipeline generation
  • Define and implement the Sales (internal) and Partner (external) enablement strategy
  • Develop messaging and positioning for Arcserve's offerings
  • Orchestrate market research and intelligence on our competitors' go-to-market strategy, positioning and pricing
  • Speak on behalf of Arcserve at industry or partner events and in the media
  • Develop collateral and sales tools, including presentations, demos, and competitive write-ups
  • Evaluate progress and results, and recommend changes in procedures to accomplish tasks

What education and skills does our Vice President Product Marketing need?

  • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or technical degree - or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, product management or technical marketing in the business-to-business IT space
  • Service or software experience
  • Deep understanding of market trends and product lifecycles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of multiple fields of technologies
  • Has in depth knowledge of the business problems and interactions of its components
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to effectively convey information to a wide variety of internal and external audiences, write and deliver quality presentations that are adjusted to the level of the audience receiving, and the ability to understand business and technical materials
  • Capable of leading cross-functional teams which requires subtle influence
  • Negotiates resources and deliverables across the organization, initiates communications and provides constructive feedback to the team.
  • Function in a fast-paced environment.
