Your Role:
As their Workforce Planning Director, you will report directly to the VP of Human Resources. Your mission is to ensure optimal staffing levels across various departments and lead workforce planning initiatives to support our operational objectives and enhance guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for delivering forecasts, identifying potential staffing shortages, and mobilizing teams to address these challenges. Additionally, you will analyze trends and make strategic recommendations for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive workforce planning strategies aligned with our short-term and long-term goals. Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Team Management: Hire, develop, and lead a team of workforce planning professionals, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and practices.
  • Trend Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of workforce trends and demographic shifts to anticipate future talent needs and mitigate potential shortages. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and operational teams to assess staffing requirements and optimize workforce utilization within the annual plan.
  • Staffing Models: Develop and maintain staffing models to ensure adequate coverage while minimizing labor costs and maximizing productivity. Set quarterly hiring targets in collaboration with external partners.
  • Talent Acquisition Partnership: Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to attract and recruit top talent across diverse roles. Address obstacles related to productivity, shortages, visas, medicals, and travel.
  • Workforce Analytics: Utilize workforce analytics tools to gather, analyze, and interpret data related to staffing levels and performance metrics. Communicate insights effectively through dashboards, reports, and presentations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal and industry standards regarding visas, medicals, and other requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in workforce planning within the hospitality, travel, or maritime industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in analysis and metrics development.
  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role within Workforce Management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • Proven experience in operational research, people analytics, or workforce analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in workforce analytics tools and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of driving results and building high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to workforce management.
  • Flexibility to travel and work onboard our cruise vessels as needed.
