Additionally, it holds a significant investment in a seventh professional team, Team Liquid, an endemic esports team owned and operated by aXiomatic, in which MSE is an investor.

In September 2022, MSE acquired the regional sports network, then-called NBC Sports Washington and newly rebranded as Monumental Sports Network. Monumental Sports Network now holds the exclusive local television media rights to Capitals’, Wizards’, and Mystics’ games. The network is both a linear channel and a digital operation. Prior to acquiring the linear platform, the digital platform was launched by MSE in 2016, as the first-of-its-kind regional sports network for digital, mobile, and streaming platforms. Those linear and digital platforms are now combined and join Caps Radio, Wizards Radio, MSE Outdoor and Monumental Productions for a full suite of six media enterprises.

In addition to Capital One Arena – a venue which hosts 3M+ visitors across over 250 events annually, MSE also manages MedStar Capitals Iceplex (training facility for the Capitals), MedStar Health Performance Center (training facility for the Wizards, Mystics, and Go-Go) and EagleBank Arena (a 12,000+ live event venue on George Mason University’s campus).

In July 2020, MSE partnered with William Hill (subsequently acquired by Caesars Entertainment) to open the first ever in-arena sportsbook in North America, now called Caesars Sportsbook. The space now also boasts a destination culinary experience, Guy Fieri’s DC Kitchen + Bar.

MSE opened “District E powered by Ticketmaster” in the spring of 2023, a flagship esports and entertainment venue. This 14,000-square-foot live-event theater offers a 365-day-a-year series of immersive experiences in esports, music, culinary excellence, event programming, and community events.

Position Overview: The Washington Capitals Radio Network is seeking a dynamic individual to join the team as a Radio Host/Content Producer. This role will deliver comprehensive Capitals coverage, providing fans with updates and various team information. The position will also involve supporting Monumental Sports Network's team television coverage.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an on-air host/anchor for pregame, intermission, and postgame shows on the Washington Capitals Radio Network for all home and away games. Home games will be broadcast live at the arena, while road games will be broadcast from a local studio.
  • Gather material to produce content for all broadcast segments.
  • Repurpose broadcast content for social media and podcasts.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Broadcasting and Network Producer to build content for broadcast, such as audio montages and story ideas.
  • Conduct interviews with local and national media for use on broadcast, podcasts, and digital platforms.
  • Secure interviews with prominent figures in the hockey world for use across all broadcast platforms (game broadcast, podcast, digital).
  • Post game audio to social media channels (such as goal calls and player interviews) during game action and while fulfilling hosting duties.
  • Record and produce player “liners” for use on broadcast.
  • Assist with crafting creative sales elements within the broadcast for sponsorship purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of broadcast experience, with additional experience with a team or a radio station preferred.
  • Applicants must submit broadcast samples (audio and/or video).
  • NHL experience is strongly preferred, and a strong knowledge of hockey rules and protocol is required.
  • Proven understanding and use of social media platforms (e.g., X, Instagram, Facebook) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in audio editing software is preferred.
  • On-camera experience is preferred for occasional television appearances, both locally and nationally as requested.
  • Strong relationship-building skills are essential, particularly with players, coaches, local media, and team public relations staff.
  • The ability to be creative and a self-starter is a must, and fresh ideas for broadcast elements are encouraged.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay Range: $60k - $68k USD
