Amazon Payment Products team in Seattle is looking for a Senior Technical Program Management (TPM) leader to manage a team of Technical Program Managers.

Key job responsibilities

This role requires working closely with your team of TPM managers, TPMs, engineering teams, and product management teams in North America. This position involves regular communication with our leadership on status, risks, plans, and launch strategy. Excellent communication – both verbal and written skills and strong technical competency is a must.

You will be a driving force within and outside of Payments Products team. You will lead your team and key stakeholder teams to identify and implement critical programs. You will lead your team with empathy, develop career plans and identify growth opportunities for your team members.

The ideal candidate has thrived and succeeded in delivering broadly adopted technology products/services in a high-paced environment. They are a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and understand how to drive excellence. They will have hands-on technical project and program management skills, leading large cross-functional technical programs from definition to launch. The person should have excellent people management skills with a proven track record of building high performing teams. A qualified candidate is a creative leader with superior analytical abilities across business and technology.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 15+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 4+ years of experience managing technical teams
  • Demonstrated experience in hiring and developing high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and operate as an individual contributor to get the job done; at the same time be able to guide the team.
  • Able to provide architectural guidance and direction throughout project lifecycle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science/Math or related field
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise, prior experience as a software developer
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies, deep understanding of software development in large teams, and a track record of shipping software on time
  • Experience managing teams of 20+ people
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Payments experience is a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
