About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager/Underwriter to manage a group of assigned relationships and commercial real estate loans. This portfolio will be diversified by product type (office, multifamily, industrial, retail, mixed-use, land), facility type (construction, term, bridge, perm, lines of credit, etc.) and loan structure (recourse/non-recourse; secured vs. unsecured; mezzanine financing). In this role, you will:

Be responsible for the management of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans and investments within Real Estate Banking, our primary balance sheet lending CRE platformAnalyze and underwrite new loan opportunities within the assigned portfolio, utilizing market research, internal loan information, client data, and third-party market research.Review and make recommendations for approval (or denial) of loan requests, lease approvals, collateral releases, requests for letters of credit, funding of reserves/loan holdbacks, loan extensions and loan modificationsCollaborate with senior management and coverage bankers to develop strategies around relationship optimization and deal level executionInterface with customers to assist in identifying needs and maintaining strong relationshipsPerform both sponsorship and loan level financial analysisComplete in-depth property level analysis and market researchPresent and advocate to credit committee for approval of loansWork with outside counsel, internal compliance, and our loan closing teams to close modifications and new loans including review of third-party reports and loan documentationReview and approve construction loan drawsConduct quarterly and annual portfolio reviews to identify potential concernsConduct property tours / site visitsMaintain an in-depth knowledge of the local commercial real estate marketEmployees support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation, and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management and underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationDesired Qualifications:Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships while actively participating in the successful execution of complex transactionsFamiliarity with the commercial property types including multifamily, retail, industrial, office, hospitality etc.Familiarity with various facility types including construction, term, bridge, perm, lines of credit, etc. and loan structures including recourse/non-recourse, secured/unsecured, and mezzanine financingExperience evaluating market conditions and identifying appropriate comparable propertiesAbility to apply sound judgment in the application of analytical conclusions to credit approval, structure, and management recommendationsStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to interact with all levels of an organizationIntermediate Microsoft Office skills including some advanced accounting and finance functions in Microsoft ExcelA BS/BA degree or higherJob Expectations:Ability to work additional hours as neededAbility to travel domesticallyPosting Locations:1000 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 770021445 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75202This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
