Position Mission:  


As a Construction and Drywall Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting construction projects by performing various manual tasks and assisting skilled workers. Your physical strength, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions will contribute to the efficient and safe execution of construction activities. You will serve as an expert in installing drywall panels and preparing them for finishing. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring accurate measurements, precise cutting, and proper installation techniques. You will collaborate with other construction professionals to meet project specifications and timelines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and quality.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in preparing construction sites by cleaning and clearing debris, removing obstacles, and setting up temporary structures or barriers as directed.
  • Safely operate basic construction tools and equipment under the guidance of skilled workers, such as power drills, saws, hammers, and measuring devices. Follow safety procedures and guidelines while handling equipment.
  • Measure and cut drywall panels to the required dimensions. Install panels securely using appropriate fastening techniques, ensuring alignment and levelness. Apply sealants and adhesives as needed.
  • Prepare drywall surfaces for finishing by taping joints, applying joint compound, and smoothing out imperfections. Install corner beads and trims accurately. Inspect surfaces for any defects or irregularities.
  • Apply and finish joint compound to create smooth, seamless surfaces. Texture walls and ceilings using various techniques as specified, such as spraying, rolling, or hand-texturing. Match existing textures when performing repairs.
  • Ensure that all drywall installations meet quality standards and comply with building codes and project specifications. Conduct inspections and make necessary corrections or adjustments to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to schedule drywall installation activities effectively. Communicate any challenges or delays promptly. Collaborate with other trades, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure proper integration of systems.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Keep work areas clean and organized, disposing of debris and waste appropriately.
  • Operate and maintain various hand tools and power tools necessary for drywall installation and finishing, such as tape measures, saws, drills, and sanders. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.


Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Proven experience as a Drywall Installer or similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of drywall installation techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and regulations related to drywall installation.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Safety-conscious and familiar with proper handling of tools and equipment.
