Manager of Government Grants

The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) is currently seeking a Manager of Government Grants. This individual's primary responsibilities include researching, identifying, and writing grant applications for government funding opportunities (federal, state, local) and managing/overseeing the post-award responsibilities. This position is hybrid in office/remote.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and research government funding opportunities relevant to NYSPCC programs

• Analyze all relevant RFPs, and prepare summary memos for applicable staff

• Plan strategies for securing new grants and bolstering support and revenue

• Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to plan for all government grant opportunities

• Lead the preparation and development of government grant proposals, including all external and internal outreach and planning required and the drafting of the narrative, budget, and all attachments

• Ensure that all internal and final deadlines are met and proposal components are being addressed by relevant staff, including research, training, clinical, and fiscal

• Write proposals to fund or initiate research, direct service, evaluation, or special projects

• Monitor and execute grant close out, extension, or renewal as necessary

• Partner with Research, Training, Clinical, and Fiscal teams to ensure that reports are completed accurately and on time, as needed

• Develop and maintain relationships with project officers and program managers at funder agencies to facilitate quality and timely reporting and continued funding

• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required

• Minimum (5) five years of government grant writing experience, with proven track record

• Knowledge of New York City and New York State government structure and granting agencies

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to complete high quality work independently as well as be a contributing member of a team

• Excellent project management skills, with a proactive communication style

• Ability to meet deadlines and perform to a high quality of work

Salary: $80k-85K commensurate with experience.
