Assistant Director of Government Grants and Contracts

Comunilife Inc. is seeking an experienced professional to join our Finance Team as an Assistant Director of Government Grants and Contracts.

This role is responsible for managing federal, New York State, and New York City contracts, serving as a liaison with funding agencies, and assisting the Director of Budgets and VP-Finance in preparing the annual budget.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, with experience working with government agencies such as NYC DHS, HUD, SAMHSA, NYS OMH, NYS-AIDS Institute, NYS-OTDA, NYC DOHMH, or NYC HRA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain processes to monitor and track contract mandates, deliverables, and contract receivables.
  • Manage contract amendments, close-out budget modifications, and other required documentation for government contracts.
  • Develop a contract tracking system and maintain historical records.
  • Monitor expenditures for each contract throughout its lifecycle and make cost-sharing adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain Comunilife's Position Control to ensure that jobs and positions are consistent with funding contracts and budgets.
  • Assist in preparing the annual operating budget and administering contracting documents.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Budgets in developing contract budgets and budget justification.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly or quarterly vouchers to government funders and ensure timely submission of all vouchers and related compliance reports.
  • Prepare variance analysis for quarterly budget meetings with senior management and program managers.
  • Coordinate with the APDs of Safe Haven I and II in submitting CoC NOFA and CoC APR for the HUD Homeless Assistance Grants.
  • Assist with government contract audits and compliance as required.
  • Assist with annual year-end audit.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree desirable.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in federal, New York State, and New York City grants/contracts administration.
  • Specific experience in contract management with NYC DHS, HUD, SAMHSA, NYS OMH, NYS-AIDS Institute, NYS-OTDA, NYC DOHMH, or NYC HRA is required.
