What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will provide supervisory oversight for a staff of specialists that perform work involved in managing, and coordinating with other entities coordination of emergency response resources in dealing with intentional and/or unintentional crises, disasters, other humanitarian emergencies, hazards, or natural and man-made/technological ( chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, high-yield explosives) incidents.

Typical assignments include:

Overseeing the Regional Watch Center whose mission is to maintain 24-hour, 365-day situational awareness of the agency's operational status and monitoring emerging events or potential incidents and reporting possible operational consequences to Regional Leadership.
Supporting the direction of response operations and ensuring functional responsibilities are executed which result in the delivery of required and effective support services to disaster impacted Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, nongovernmental organizations, and private sector.
Ensuring the continuous operational capability of the Regional Response Coordination Center (RRCC) facility and staff.
Coordinating Federal response to acts of terrorism and consequence management for National Special Security Events (NSSE) and other incidents requiring coordination and communication of Top Secret/Special Compartmental Information (TS/SCI) level information.
Exercising technical and administrative supervisory controls that are in keeping with a first level supervisory position; planning and scheduling work to be accomplished by subordinates; managing a 24x7 shift schedule.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
