The Senior Development Director will generate revenue for Go Red For Women campaign. This campaign includes our signature Go Red For Women Experience event.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Development Director, you will be a driving force behind fundraising efforts, volunteer engagement, and strategic alignment to achieve the American Heart Association’s mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the American Heart Association leadership competencies. Employ effective management techniques in the recruitment, selection, supervision, management, and leadership of staff (direct and/or indirect reports). Develop and engage staff to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Manage and directly implement the Go Red for Women campaign ensuring alignment with Association best practices and priority strategies. Directly accountable for achieving revenue goals related to funding research, public health, professional education and training and community services.
  • Consistently drive the process of identifying, recruiting, engaging, and activating an influential, financially strong, and diverse volunteer leadership base to support sustained campaign growth. Build and manage executive leadership committees to identify and engage C-suite leaders and their organizations.
  • Prospect, solicit, close and steward high-level corporate and individual donors. Develop and implement year-round cultivation plans ensuring superior donor relations.
  • Provide strategic direction and support in planning, developing, implementing, growing, and evaluating campaigns consistent with best practices and timelines. Guide and direct staff to reach goals and best practices. Provide coaching and guidance for staff in volunteer leadership recruitment, orientation, and development.
  • Collaborate as a part of the Division, Region and Association-wide team to ensure full alignment with vision and goals and provide consistent support in all aspects of fundraising and other assigned organizational initiatives.
  • Ensure that team operates within appropriate operational and financial boundaries and within the financial capacity available. Operate in accordance with the Association's Fiscal Standard policies and all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Communicate proactively and timely with supervisor, Senior VP, Executive Director, and other internal and external partners. Consistently deliver on commitments made to internal and external customers.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience.
  • Strong initiative to effectively prospect and secure new business with a reputation for donor-centric results.
  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.

Here are some of the preferred experience skills we are seeking:

  • University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level.
  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks.
Compensation & Benefits

Expected pay range will be $83,300 to $102,700. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
