Milliman's Seattle Health Practice serves a wide variety of organizations, including insurance companies, health plans, state and federal agencies, healthcare providers, reinsurance companies, and employers. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform analysis of healthcare data

To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field
  • FSA designation
  • Behavioral health actuarial experience
  • Five to ten years of healthcare actuarial experience. Meaningful experience in one or more of the following areas would be considered a "plus":
    • Medicaid rate-setting for behavioral health services
    • Behavioral health provider rate development
    • Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) program impacts
    • Behavioral Health Crisis (mobile, in-home stabilization, and facility stabilization)
    • Integrated physical health and behavioral health systems, payments, and provider care
    • Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Opioid Treatment Programs
    • Institutes for Mental Disease
    • Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitalizations
    • American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) 4th edition changes
    • Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder residential care

  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Some knowledge of SAS, SQL, or R
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare system
  • Demonstrable skills in presenting technical concepts to a non-technical audience in an understandable way

Location

This position is based out of the Milliman office in Seattle, WA. It is preferred that this employee work in-office, but remote candidates anywhere in the US will be considered.

Compensation

The salary range is $98,000 to $204,000, depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc. Employees are also eligible for a bonus under our standard bonus policy. Paid bonus is dependent on billable hours worked by and work managed by the employee. Actual bonuses vary widely based on desired and completed workload, but routinely exceed 40% of base salary.
