The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Full-Time Electrician (WG-2805-10) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the 78 Air Base Wing at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, Georgia. To install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain various electrical systems, controls, and equipment.

-Installs, repairs or replaces, modifies, loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls located in and near installation buildings and structures. Works on secondary distribution lines and circuits used to supply distribution panels, switchgears, power and control circuits, electrical intrusion alarm and fire alarm systems; and related equipment. Tests and maintains gasoline and diesel generators for proper electrical output. Troubleshoots problem areas and inspects for defective equipment and faulty wiring. Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to determine the necessary and proper repairs and/or replacements.

-Uses and maintains various types of hand and/or power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines. In addition, uses a wide variety of test equipment including test lamps, multimeters, circuit analyzers, circuit breaker testers, voltage recording meters, meggers, watt meters, and ammeters.

-Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing.

Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments used in shop and trade practices, and of electrical equipment, i.e., Skill in using and maintaining hand tools such as, screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, strippers, cable pullers, drills, soldering irons, and manual or power conduit benders and threaders.

Ability to use electrical drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams and to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various electrical systems, controls, and equipment without more than normal supervision

Shift work may be required.

Emergency overtime may be required.

May work with hazardous materials such as asbestos or accumulated waste. Frequently lifts parts and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts items that weigh over 40 pounds with assistance from other workers.

Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. This is a Testing Designated Position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.

Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and commercial aircraft.
- This is designated Drug Testing Position
