Job Description:

· Interview: 1st- Video/phone, 2nd- in person. Would like to see communication samples/online portfolio first. ONSITE POSITION, MUST BE A LOCAL CANDIDATE.

· PREFERRED/NICE TO HAVE skill sets/qualities: Some graphic design experience, presentation skills, advanced Power Point skills.

· A typical day would like in this role: Reviewing HR communications for grammar, spelling, tone. Maintaining communication plan. Creating HR Newsletter. Finding HR-related topics to share with management team. Reviewing HR presentations for formatting, grammar, spelling, etc. Designing simple marketing materials such as flyers, postcards, etc. Coordinating with Corporate Communications team for more complex materials.

· Extensive graphic design skills, web publishing. Strong written and verbal communication skills- all HR Communications will flow through this person, and they will interact with all HR management and departments outside of HR. Enthusiasm- will be part of the Employee Engagement team and must be “on brand” for what we do in that area.

· Organization skills- needs to keep up with multiple communication pieces at a time and keep track of many deadlines simultaneously.

· Talent Development Team in HR consists of Leadership Development, Learning and Development, Wellness and Employee Engagement areas of HR. Sr. Communication Specialist will likely report to the Employee Engagement Manager (currently vacant). Newly defined team with several dynamic leaders.

Responsibilities:

· Advises internal clients of the best ways to reach their customers using content marketing strategies, promoting communication solutions with emphasis on content marketing using innovative technology or tools to meet business goals. Designs, writes, and/or edits all materials to include communications with internal and external audiences (members, clients, prospects and agents/brokers/consultants, internal associates, healthcare providers, and other represented populations). Responsible for the design and layout of publications or may work with designers to come up with concepts for design/layout of materials/publications. Responsible for maintenance of information on the division's website/intranet site. Creates internal/external communication plans and print and digital communications content for the company, subsidiaries, subscribers, etc. that align with corporate and/or line of business marketing goals. Ensures all content has been reviewed and approved for grammar and spelling accuracy, adherence to corporate style, and brand compliance. Edits copy and proofs design and assists with the design direction of materials.

· Manages specific client relationships, counseling and advising them on the best ways to use content marketing strategies to achieve their business goals. Meets with clients to assess their needs and makes recommendations. Updates clients, tracks, and reports on client activities, and maintains accurate client records. Works with business partners, colleagues, customer, etc. to identity business needs and may work closely with management to develop high quality proposals. Researches and identifies available reference sources to successfully complete projects. May assist with special events/meetings and promotional efforts. Coordinates approval with Corporate Communications to ensure all guidelines are met with respect to proper usage of logos and brand rules. Creates/writes/edits/updates and manages content on the division’s internal and/or external websites.

Experience:

· 5 years of communications, marketing or publications experience to include writing communications/advertisement materials

Skills:

· Effective organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Good judgment. Effective customer service skills. Demonstrated excellent proficiency in editing/writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. Strong business math proficiency. Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others. Analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. Ability to explain, organize, and simplify complex information for specific target audiences.

· Required Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Effective presentation skills. Computer programming skills. Familiarity with AP writing style. Preferred Software and Other Tools: Familiarity with desktop publishing software such as Adobe, in design. Working knowledge of Websphere or other web content management tools. Work Environment: Typical office environment. Some travel between office buildings. Some out-of-town travel.

Education:

· Bachelor's Degree Communications/Journalism, Public Relations, English, Liberal Arts, or other job-related field
