VP of Operational Risk


We are currently partnered with a leading regional bank in their search for a VP of Operational Risk. As a part of their 2nd Line Risk and Controls function, this individual will play a key role in the development, review and credible challenge of risk assessments, KRI’s, and overall frameworks.

The bank is investing heavily in all of its Risk functions, and this group will be expanding significantly over the next 12-18 months, offering an exceptional platform for growth for the right individual, as they seek to enhance risk assessment and controls across several key business functions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide second line of defense risk management through targeted assessments and evaluation of key metrics
  • Identify operational gaps and ideate and implement frameworks, methodologies and controls to mitigate risk
  • Enhance enterprise wide Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) through ongoing review and challenge of existing processes
  • Proactively implement and enforce risk management procedures and policies
  • Work with business lines to identify and improve key risk indicators throughout the organization
  • Support the creation and execution of organization wide risk governance, including program deployment, trainings, and integration


Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in operational risk management
  • Experience in commercial banking highly preferred
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive presentation skills
  • Knowledge of operational risk processes, controls, and assessments
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Experience with US regulatory environment
