Procurement Specialist (Sourcing)


SUMMARY ROLE DESCRIPTION:

  • Assists the Procurement Manager in the entire purchasing process for the job site including: Conducting initial research with the end-user o Communicating with potential suppliers
  • Issuing purchase order(s) o Monitoring the delivery status and receipt of goods
  • Assists with the purchase of consumable goods (safety supplies, hand tools, etc.), construction materials (concrete, rebar, PT, etc.), equipment (generators, concrete buckets, etc.), and services (rental equipment) for the job site in order to maximize profits. This includes:
  • Separating the purchase from the delivery and then leveraging different supply chain models as appropriate, i.e., consignment, drop ship to destination, warehouse inventory, or other
  • Helps manage jobsite specific contract agreements (rental, rebate, and/or purchase) and actively pursues additional agreements as is appropriate
  • Works with the Procurement Manager to implement agreed-upon terms and conditions for rental contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and purchase transactions
  • Maintains Supplier and Subcontractor Relationship
  • Works with Procurement Manager, Construction Management, and Project Management to ensure required materials and services are procured timely to support field progress § Works with warehouse personnel to coordinate logistics of delivered materials


Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years procurement or supply chain management experience related to construction industry.
  • Knowledge of procurement practices as applicable to purchasing and delivery methods, vendor inspection techniques, financial management, and contract law required.
