We are on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Contract Data Center Project Manager to join our technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific data center projects which have a beginning, an end, and specified deliverables. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where you can apply your skills in project management, site evaluation, and change management. We are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and implementation of data center projects, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
- Manage project budget and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Conduct site evaluations to ensure the suitability of locations for data center infrastructure.
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
- Continuously monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders.
- Evaluate and assess the results of the project, identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient execution of project tasks and goals.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7+ years of experience in project management, specifically in data center project management.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
- Proficient in project management software.
- Extensive knowledge of project scheduling and budgeting.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project and Excel.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment, and to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in work product.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
