Job Title: Data Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Penn State University. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for retrieving and analyzing data from various institutional sources to provide reports and information to college leadership for planning, assessment, and performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Retrieve and analyze data from institutional sources to provide reports and information to college leadership.
  • Collaborate with college personnel on strategic planning, including assistance with establishing key performance indicators and defining qualitative and quantitative metrics.
  • Design, write, and analyze survey data.
  • Provide units within the college with facilitation and training for data gathering, interpretation, and utilization.
  • Consult with various offices in the college on assessment projects, assisting stakeholders in understanding and using results from assessment projects.
  • Collaborate with the college IT team to establish a secure repository for data analysis.
  • Work on a variety of projects and ad hoc analyses, responding to the needs of college stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong data presentation skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in information systems that house student data, including LionPath, Canvas, and Starfish.
  • Working knowledge of educational structures, including campuses, colleges, programs, and university policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of iTwo, eSTeward, LionSpace, SIMBA, and Microsoft Power BI, as well as other Office software.
  • Preferred skills include Qualtrics and legacy Penn State data systems.
