About the Position

The One Health Microbiome Center at Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will work closely with faculty, scientists, trainees, and administrators to develop and execute the Center's education, research, and business operations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage scientific programs, including complex training grants, pilot grant programs, research fellowships, training workshops, symposia, and seminar series.
  • Lead the writing and preparation of Center-related reports, publications, and grant applications in collaboration with Center leadership.
  • Manage Center-related grant and operational budgets in collaboration with the Huck Institutes.
  • Oversee communication of Center outcomes to the public via website, social media, emails, and other promotional materials.
  • Oversee outreach activities, networking events, symposia, education, and art of Center-related projects.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree or a PhD from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in natural sciences, physical sciences, engineering, or a microbiome-related field.
  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience for the Intermediate Professional level and 3+ years for Advanced Professional level.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, demonstrated ability for communicating effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, sound judgement, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Consistent demonstration of initiative, able to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
