Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research and Outreach Project Manager to join our team at the Center for Childhood Obesity Research (CCOR) at Penn State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing outreach activities and research studies for children and families, requiring strong project management and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall management and leadership of the Center's SNAP-Ed program.
  • Collaborate with the Center director and Lab Manager on strategic planning and long-term goals of the Center.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, outreach partners, and recruitment sites.
  • Oversee the design, development, coordination, and evaluation of outreach and research projects.
  • Develop proposals, research plans, statements of work, budgets, standard operating procedures, and IRB applications.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate compliance documents and reports as required by University and funding agencies.
  • Collaborate on grant proposals, manuscripts, reports, presentations, and other scientific deliverables.
  • Develop and submit annual SNAP-Ed funding proposal and budget.
  • Ensure programs are in compliance with the regulatory standards of funding agencies.
  • Build data collection tools in REDCap and manage incoming data.
  • Oversee evaluation efforts and ensure data quality and timely reporting of statewide data into various systems.
  • Interact with research/outreach participants, collect data, and deliver interventions.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff and students for successful execution and completion of projects.
  • Communicate and form relationships with diverse stakeholders to understand project requirements, goals, and risks/barriers to project success.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement practices and processes.
Requirements
  • This position will be filled at the Intermediate Professional or Advanced Professional level depending on the final candidate's qualifications and experience.
  • Requires a Master's Degree or higher, plus one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience for the Intermediate Professional level.
  • Additional education and/or experience required for higher level positions.

Additional Information

This is a limited-term staff position, funded for one year from the date of hire, with an excellent possibility for renewal. CCOR offers flexible work arrangements that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
