The Corporate Strategy team is a trusted advisor to executives and business leaders by providing thought partnership, strategic analysis, and insights. The Sr. Manager of Strategic Planning is a high impact individual contributor role, responsible for driving an effective strategic planning process in support of the broader corporate strategic planning cycle. The Sr. Manager will manage all aspects of the annual production of the Long-term Corporate Strategic Plan, play a crucial role in ensuring that our corporate strategy is consistently communicated across the company, and be responsible for regulatory, governance, and risk activities related to the Corporate Strategy team. The Sr. Manager will also serve as a key liaison between Corporate Strategy and a wide range of stakeholders across the company to ensure alignment across business strategy, financial planning, oversight and governance, and other supporting corporate functions. In addition to the oversight of the strategic planning activities, the Sr. Manager will be a key contributor to ad-hoc strategy deliverables.

In this role, you will: 

Own and oversee the annual production of the Long-term Corporate Strategic Plan Facilitate a timely review and socialization of key components of our corporate strategy by collaborating with leadership and business partners (., Communications) to ensure clarity, alignment, and consistent messaging across the company Monitor corporate success measures, proactively reviewing and escalating progress as needed; collaborate with data and analytics teams to maintain strong connectivity with key metrics across the company Oversee and coordinate all governance and regulatory processes for Corporate Strategy, including maintaining and socializing required documentation, acting as a main point of contact for all oversight activities, and providing support for regulatory meetings and exams Lead and contribute to strategy projects for senior leadership and cross-enterprise partners as needed Lead and work closely with business partners on processes related to the management and oversight of strategic risk Prepare materials for and lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders (including executive leadership and the Board of Directors) Develop relationships across Schwab, including strategy, finance, and risk management communities, as well as other subject matter experts across all enterprises Regularly collaborate with business partners across all levels and subject matters to ensure that deliverables are high quality, completed on time, and with full stakeholder visibility Develop and maintain detailed timelines for the annual corporate strategic planning cycle, conduct ongoing assessment of progress against key milestones and adherence to strategic planning guidelines, and escalate issues as appropriate In all aspects of the role, exercise professionalism and integrity in communications and actions, as well as prudent judgment in the handling of confidential strategic, financial, and other sensitive information

What you have

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree 4-6 years of coordinating large deliverables involving multiple stakeholders of varying subject matter expertise and seniority 4-6 years of progressive experience in the development and distribution of strategic plans and/or large regulatory works Documented analytical abilities, research capabilities, and ability to manage large and complex ecosystem of information, documents, and sources Documented experience collaborating regularly with members at all levels of various organizations (including C-suite executives), with emphasis on impactful and succinct written and live communications Storytelling ability with high proficiency in PowerPoint, with experience pulling relevant insights forward in a meaningful way Ability to create and adjust project plans and schedules and keep stakeholders accountable for deliverables

Preferred Qualifications

Prior strategy experience within financial services industry Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and influence outcomes through partnerships Strong attention to detail and excellent writing / editing ability; exceptional organizational ability Why work for us?
