Residential Construction Estimator

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have a background in high-end custom homes, but we are open to individuals with any residential construction experience. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for our residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for estimates.
  • Maintain and update a database of unit costs and historical data for future reference.
  • Prepare and present estimates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide input on project schedules and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress and costs to ensure alignment with estimates and budgets.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in high-end custom homes or residential construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
