About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our client, a well-established general contractor with multiple offices in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for diverse construction projects, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates for diverse construction projects, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Bid Preparation: Analyze project specifications and blueprints to create comprehensive bid proposals.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating prices and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Resource Management: Collaborate with project managers to identify project requirements, establish budgets, and support value engineering efforts.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain precise records of estimates and bids, and generate reports for internal review and client presentations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and construction methodologies to enhance estimating techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience as an Estimator
  • Prior estimating experience with a General Contractor is a plus
  • Experience in healthcare and educational projects is desirable
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
