Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Student Worker for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). The primary focus of this position is to create video edits and transcriptions as well as being a technology host for virtual classes. Some general office support will also be required. The student worker will edit these videos and correct closed captioning errors to ensure the videos are correct, accurate and ADA compliant.

Employee is given general instruction and will be expected to prioritize work and make decisions regarding work assignments.

Responsibilities

Use video software to edit recorded classes

Edit/create video transcriptions for closed captioning

Provide technology support for hybrid and/or virtual programs using Zoom

Handle basic office duties such as making copies, answering OLLI member questions, producing program flyers, and distributing class materials

Required Qualifications

Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno

Candidate must maintain a 2.0 GPA and be enrolled in at least 15 credits 

Candidate must have effective communication skills

Candidate must have organizational skills

Candidate must experience with Zoom as well as Adobe PremierePro and Vimeo, or other video editing software

Candidate must have command of English language including local vernacular

Candidate must possess specific knowledge and skills to perform duties without detailed supervision

Preferred Qualifications

Candidate has excellent customer service skills and takes initiative regularly

Schedule

Expected hours to work per week during semester: Up to 25

Expected hours to work per week during breaks: Up to 40

Compensation Grade

Student Employee Level 2

Minimum $12.00/hr (based on experience)
