Assistant Project Manager

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports and assists the organization’s operations. The APM will manage project estimating, ordering, and budget adherence, ensuring projects meet company standards and client expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with architects, client’s project managers, and site supers.
- Assist in selecting subcontractors and delegating responsibilities.
- Manage delays and emergencies to a satisfactory resolution.
- Ensure compliance with safety and building codes and legal requirements.
- Report project progress and budget to management
- Prepare budget and cost estimates along with work timetables
- Work with the executive team to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Establish and maintain productive peer-to-peer relationships with customers
- Support achieving strategic objectives critical to other areas within the firm.
SKILLS/CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED/PREFERRED:
- Desire to enhance understanding of the real estate and construction industries, focusing on ground-up and gut renovation multi-family, NYC affordable, and market-rate housing.
- Demonstrates and promotes a positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external leaders.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate organizational success in reaching goals, ensuring each strategic goal is measurable.

- Management skills that foster a culture of learning and development among employees.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree – Construction-related field.
- 3+ years of experience, preferably in real estate or construction with a focus on multi-family, NYC affordable housing and landlords and interior renovations.
