Project Assistant Manager

NYU Langone Health is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center, known for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the Real Estate Development and Facilities Department.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager will assist Project Managers in developing project definition, scope, and budgets, as well as performing field inspections of ongoing construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents and NYU construction standards. The successful candidate will also coordinate schedules with NYU hospital and school functions to ensure accessibility to construction sites and review construction documents for compliance with NYU construction standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, developing, and implementing project plans, including definition, scope, budgets, and schedules.
- Performing field inspections of ongoing construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents and NYU construction standards.
- Coordinating schedules with NYU hospital and school functions to ensure accessibility to construction sites.
- Reviewing construction documents for compliance with NYU construction standards.
- Assisting Project Managers in client relations and the development of project work plans.
- Helping to create presentations for project meetings and assisting Project Managers in the facilitation of client meetings regarding project matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
- 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in construction trades, complex operations within a hospital and school environment, knowledge of infectious control procedures, management of contractors, and interpreting construction drawings.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to comprehend complex business documents and work with Microsoft Office Suite.
