POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Development Director is responsible for managing a portfolio of major gift prospects/donors primarily consisting of individuals and families. The position requires an advanced and demonstrated capability in leadership with volunteers, physicians and University Health staff; motivation to aggressively develop relationships with donors and prospects. Implements effective campaigns and major giving programs. Maintains accountability, reporting and compliance standards for donors and funding sources.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in related field required. Requires seven years of successful front-line fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in major gifts. Understanding of different aspects of comprehensive fundraising program. Experience working in healthcare, hospital or academic medical center with boards, physicians, leaders and volunteer committees.

Knowledge of non-profit fundraising best practices and various forms of development solicitation practices, including major gift solicitation, planned giving, and events. Proven success with direct donor solicitation and stewardship.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills for building strong relationships with donors of all levels, volunteers, community leaders, corporate and foundation representatives, physicians and University Health leadership.

Ability to handle multiple projects and effectively manage and set priorities. Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, and experience in Raiser’s Edge NXT a plus.
