About Caplight
At Caplight, we are reimagining the way institutions research, analyze, and trade private company stock. Our vision is ambitious: to make the pre-IPO asset class as seamless to trade as public stock by bringing unparalleled access and transparency to institutional investors. We've been operational since 2021 and have a best-in-class product. Our customer base includes tier 1 investment banks, asset managers, and venture capitalists. But there is still so much more to build. Our team is roughly 14 people and the next fundraising milestone for us will be our Series A. Join us on this journey to transform the future of the private markets.
Role Description:
As Caplight’s first Chief of Staff, you will play a crucial role in building Caplight into a private market thought leader and promoting our culture. You will work closely with the co-founders to understand and solve the company’s toughest problems. You will build a deep empathy for our customers and the market we serve. Success in this role will be measured by our ability to move quickly and in unison as a team while nailing our external communication.
Responsibilities will include:
Oversee GTM execution
Coordinate Caplight’s thought-leadership efforts
Manage our journalist relationships, which include The Information, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, etc
Oversee all new product marketing to Caplight customers and the public
Serve as the cultural glue of Caplight
Help the co-founders communicate the company’s mission & vision to teammates, investors, and external stakeholders
Assist the co-founders and Product Owners with company goal planning
Plan company offsites, team building, and customer events
Lead our business & people operations
Lead hiring efforts and employee onboarding
Oversee business admin tasks like book keeping and business registrations
Requirements:
You will be expected to shadow our CEO, work similar hours, and attend many of the same meetings. The job will be demanding but also rich with learning opportunities. The ideal candidate will:
Be based in San Francisco and eager to work in our office at least 3-4 times per week.
Have prior experience in management consulting, product marketing, or an early-stage startup.
Have 2-4 years of professional experience.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize work and drive results in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
Be curious with passionate energy to drive learning and enthusiasm across the team
Be entrepreneurial and a creative problem-solver.
