Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Supply Chain will lead and optimize the supply chain operations, focusing on the strategic planning, procurement, production, logistics, and distribution processes. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of materials, goods, and services from suppliers to customers while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Essential Job Functions *

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives, focusing on cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and risk management. Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management. Ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to optimize working capital while ensuring the availability of materials to meet production and customer demand. Logistics and Distribution: Lead logistics and distribution efforts, ensuring the efficient transportation and storage of goods. Optimize routes, manage transportation costs, and ensure on-time delivery. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, ensuring team members are aligned with the company’s strategic goals. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Monitor supplier performance, address issues, and negotiate contracts to secure the best terms. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction. Implement best practices and innovative solutions. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, including disruptions, quality issues, and compliance risks. Develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity. Budget Management: Manage the supply chain budget, monitoring costs and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service levels. Technology Utilization: Leverage supply chain management software and tools to improve efficiency and data-driven decision-making. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including production, finance, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment and smooth operations across the supply chain. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all supply chain activities comply with relevant regulations and standards. Maintain high levels of quality control across the supply chain.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. 7-10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. Experience in [industry] is preferred.
