This position will provide project management support to the EVA Development Project Office of the EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP).at NASA/Johnson Space Center

This is a full-time, 100% onsite position located at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

What You’ll Be Doing

Partner with multiple supporting organizations to develop budgets and plans for the EVA Development Project Office.  Represent the EVA Development project as Hardware Development team member/lead at collaborator and Program working groups, control boards, and other project meetings.  Work with multiple project managers to ensure cost, technical and schedule requirements are met and to help resolve higher scope issues.  Integrate with owners of interfacing hardware/systems and various collaborators within the EVA community to ensure proper requirements are being met  Lead conflict resolution discussions, as needed, across multi-stakeholder teams.  Review and manage integrated master schedules.  Perform formal product reviews (i.e., contract deliverables, lifecycle reviews, and change requests).  Identify, analyze, and lead mitigations of project/program risks; monitor and control risks  Participate in or lead development, implementation, and maintenance of processes/plans required to support EVA Development Project Office Objectives. 

This position is available as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements: 

Project Engineer

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or closely related STEM discipline At least 6 years of experience increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment Ability to effectively use oral and written communication to express technical concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels Ability to work effectively and quickly in real-time environments of rapid-change, conflicting requirements, and occasional pressure Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers Senior level understanding of project management techniques and methods Knowledge and experience on performance evaluation and organizational change principles Willing to travel approx. 10%

Senior Project Engineer

Same requirements as a Project Engineer noted above, in addition to:  

At least 10 years of experience increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment
