Overview: Craig Technologies is seeking a qualified EVA Operations Flight Control Specialist to join our team at Johnson Space Center, TX.

Role Description:

This role is part of the Integrated Mission Operations Contract (IMOC III), which offers flight control and training support for the International Space Station (ISS) Operations, Exploration, Commercial Crew Program, Gateway, xEVA, and Human Landing System (HLS) within the NASA Johnson Space Center Flight Operations Directorate.

The selected candidate will be integrated into the EVA, Robotics, and Mechanical Systems Organization, focusing on supporting NASA's Flight Operations Directorate in the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) sector. Initially, the candidate will undergo training on ISS EVA principles while also taking on a pivotal role in EVA exploration initiatives. Future opportunities for certification as an EVA instructor or flight controller in the Mission Control Center (MCC) are anticipated. In this capacity, the individual will lead EVA mission operations, providing development and integration support.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse organizations, leveraging strong interpersonal skills.
  • Deliver technical and high-level presentations to various panels and forums.
  • Engage in group efforts to enhance and streamline technical and administrative processes.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • A solid technical background with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, demonstrated initiative, and outstanding organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and perform well under pressure.
  • Strong multi-tasking and work prioritization skills.
  • Must meet JSC requirements for certification as a Flight Controller.
  • Availability for night, weekend, and holiday work for integrated simulations and flight support, as well as potential domestic and international travel.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to apply for and maintain security clearance per eligibility requirements.
  • Successful completion of a government background check is mandatory prior to employment commencement.
  • Candidate must pass a standard flight controller physical examination and security clearances.

  • Must pass a NASA Background Check.
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
