We have an exciting opportunity for a PLSS Project Engineer to be part of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

If selected, your role will include:

  • Executing project engineering tasks related to the design, development, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and certification of EVA spacesuits.
  • Collaborating with leadership to refine plans and agreements concerning PLSS project scope.
  • Identifying and documenting new risks associated with the PLSS project and updating risk mitigation strategies.
  • Designing and conducting tests on PLSS hardware.
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications:

This position is open at various levels. Depending on the candidate's qualifications and the needs of the organization, we may consider applicants at any advertised level.

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering is typically required, along with relevant experience. Licensure and certification may be necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of vent loop gas flow rates, pressure management, and CO2 control in both closed and open loop systems. Familiarity with xEMU design goals for vent loop components is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of thermal control systems, including heat removal capabilities and component design trades that influenced xEMU thermal loop selections.
