PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Director of Benefits and Wellness is responsible for leading the long-term strategy, design, implementation and flawless administration of all benefit programs, such as health, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible benefits, retirement and work life plans.  This position is responsible for driving ChrisitanaCare’s competitive position in the labor market by developing and implementing market competitive and cost-effective benefit and wellbeing strategies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead benefits and wellness team to set benefit strategy aligned with the overall Rewards, HR, and organization strategy and values.
  • Manage large vendor relationships (with consultants, administrators, record keepers, insurance carriers, trustees, etc.) for the delivery of benefits administration, including oversight for budgets, performance, contract negotiation, billing and service procurement.
  • Monitor industry trends to ensure benefit programs remain competitive and make recommendations for program enhancements or changes.
  • Monitor costs, employee satisfaction, and engagement levels, claim trends and other key performance indicators and make recommendations for program enhancements or changes.
  • Ensure compliance with benefit regulations and compliance including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA and tax filing requirements, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with and act as a thought leader for other internal partners (HR, finance, legal, internal clinical teams, etc.)
  • Manage and support the execution of new and ongoing programs and deliverables while being an active hands-on participant in the process.
  • Provide leadership, direction, training, mentorship, development, and support to team.
  • Develop and present executive level reporting.
  • Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.  Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Performs other related duties as required/directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree. 8 - 10 years of progressive benefit administration experience with a minimum of 5
  • years of leadership experience. CEBS certification and/or Project Management Professional
  • Certification (PMP) preferred.
