Overview

FleishmanHillard has an opportunity for a Senior Vice President to join our Talent + Transformation team – our global internal communications, employee engagement and change management practice. The candidate will support client accounts with a focus on informing, engaging, aligning – and shifting the behaviors of – employees to achieve the organizations’ business objectives.

The candidate will be responsible for providing senior-level strategic counsel, working directly with senior-level clients in executive, corporate communications, HR, labor relations and other functional roles. In addition to delivering strategy, the candidate must be a “doer,” eager to roll up their sleeves and engage in a wide array of activities to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.

The candidate will have responsibility for leading project teams and also potentially serving as a supervisor for members of the Talent + Transformation practice. Additionally, the candidate will support the overall growth of the team by contributing to RFP responses and new-business pitches and developing thought-leadership content for dissemination across FleishmanHillard colleague, client and prospect audiences.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement employee communications, engagement, alignment and change management programs for an array of clients/industries, including but not limited to mergers/acquisitions, integrations, spinoffs/IPOs, reorganizations, relocations, reductions in force, functional transformations, leadership transitions, culture programs, branding initiatives and more. Manage a variety of other highly strategic internal communications efforts, including employee value propositions, employee advocacy programs, purpose/values programs, learning and development initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, labor/bargaining projects, crisis/issues management engagements and more. Provide strategic counsel to the agency’s other employee communications practitioners, leading and participating in account planning and program management efforts. Identify and contribute to growth opportunities for the global agency including RFP responses, new-business pitches, prospecting, and thought-leadership content.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in employee communications/engagement and change management. Ability to provide strategic counsel and leadership to influence and impact strategy. Candidates should have experience building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders effectively. Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment, negotiate client approvals diplomatically and maintain composure and production quality under deadline pressure. Experience developing and generating support for strategic, comprehensive communications plans that apply data-driven insights to creative tactics and use a variety of integrated communication channels including digital, social, video and print. Experience in building communications programs upon a foundation of research and evaluating the effectiveness of programs through relevant metrics. Proven ability to lead programs and manage others to deliver high-quality thinking and results quickly and within tight timetables. Excellent writing and editing skills that reflect an ability to clarify and simplify complicated issues and technical subject matter and versatility in tone and technique depending on the author and/or audience. (Knowledge of AP style is a must.) Solid team leadership and team-building experience are necessary. A respectful, collegial work style is critical based on the collaborative culture of FleishmanHillard and its St. Louis office. Experience and confidence interacting with C-level executives and the ability to understand and communicate about different industries, sectors and businesses. Bachelor’s degree in communications, or related field. Master’s degree in communications, business, organizational psychology or organizational behavior is a plus. Prosci certification and large-agency experience also a plus. Energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver – gets things moving and keeps them on track. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple activities. Ability to cultivate diverse teams and contribute to an inclusive working and learning environment.
