The Support and Learning Administrative Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide support to the Participant Support and Learning Department in the areas of administration and general operations. The Administrative Assistant will also help facilitate successful Medical Plan processing and coordination between medical providers and claims administrators when program participants obtain medical care. Priorities may shift in response to trends in seasonal demands and deadlines throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented. Skill in both creative and technical writing is desirable. This position reports to the Manager of Participant Support and Learning.

DUTIES/RESONSIBILITIES:

Medical bill processing/management Assistance in making Medical/Mental Health Appointments for participants on program Coordination between Medical Providers and Claims Administrators Serve as primary contact at AFS for internal and external stakeholders as it pertains to managing insurance claims Troubleshoot challenges which arise between medical providers, claims administration and external stakeholders Activity and Travel Waiver Processing Liaison linking process/follow-up General support administrative tasks Answering and fielding calls via the Emergency Support Line Managing lower-level Support Cases

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, English, or related field 1-2 years’ experience working in marketing, sales, customer service, or related field Experience working in a volunteer-based environment preferred

WORK EXPECTATIONS:

AFS USA work hours are generally from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday EST; however, given the nature of this position and the necessity to work closely with volunteers, the specific schedule of this role will be discussed with the hiring manager. candidates considered.
