General Overview

The Sr. Project Manager, working closely with the Director, Enterprise Quality and Safety and Medical Director for Clinical Collaboration will lead the project management support to several enterprise-wide specialty clinical collaboration committees and their associated initiatives, focusing on clinical strategy, policy, and measurement. In addition, this role will support key initiatives or projects identified and defined by the Chief Quality Officer that impact enterprise quality and safety. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, professional maturity, and strong analytic ability. The position requires collaboration with other teams within the Office of the CMO and other departments within the Mass General Brigham Enterprise (i.e. Digital, Office of the COO, entity specific specialty departments).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads the facilitation of enterprise-wide priority projects aimed at improving patient safety and quality in partnership with Executive and Clinical leaders
• In partnership with the chairs of each committee and the team’s Medical Director, manages the direct and indirect management of clinical subject matter expert committees and workgroups that support Mass General Brigham’s goals for improved patient care and efficiency. This includes annual goal setting, guideline development, and development and adoption of system-wide policies of care.
• Responsible for developing strategy with Committee Chairs in identifying and leveraging tools to successfully support the data capture of preferred clinical workflows based on guidelines, including the leveraging of the EHR.
• With the Medical Director, coordinate and disseminate information across committees, connecting activities amongst the committees as well as connecting these groups to other Mass General Brigham efforts and groups/committees.
• Establish contacts and strong working relationships with clinical leaders, network leaders and leaders of quality departments at each site and other departments within Mass General Brigham.
• Accountable for maintaining project timeline and deliverables and ensuring tasks stay on track towards completion with the intended outcomes. Responsible for identifying and overcoming any obstacles or threats to successful completion of the projects and goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Undergraduate (required); graduate degree (preferred) in health related field 8+ years’ experience in health care, preferably in a provider setting Demonstrated experience in clinical project management, consulting, or clinical/financial data analysis Experience in health care quality measurement, reporting, and improvement preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate clinical collaborative engagement and relations across MGB enterprise A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements

Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Ability to develop effective relationships with a broad array of people from diverse backgrounds and various levels of the management hierarchy. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with clinical staff a plus. Ability to think about strategic problems, generate and present options, and facilitate consensus and decision-making among constituent clinical groups and executive leadership. Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and projects, meet deadlines and manage to schedule. Influencing skills to engage clinicians and other leaders Ability to effectively present ideas and information in a variety of formats to a wide range of audiences Experience with Microsoft Office applications Solid understanding of the health care environment Requires minimal direction from leadership and possesses the ability to learn quickly Possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites
