The Corporate Giving & Events Manager plays a key role in relationship and fund development for Cherry Health Foundation, primarily responsible for a comprehensive corporate partner program, event sponsorships, and creatively planning and managing strategic fund- and friend-raising events. Events currently include two large signature events, multiple small offerings, and facility tours.

This manager will execute a special events calendar of opportunities, ensuring programs align with Cherry Health’s mission and support the Foundation’s goals of attendance, fund development, attendee experience, and donor stewardship. The position requires a high level of involvement and commitment to establish and maintain professional relationships with corporate and major donors, colleagues, and fundraising volunteers.

Business hours Monday through Friday, though occasional, early morning, night and, rarely, weekend work may be required to accomplish the essential job functions of this position.

Must adhere to the organizational Policies, Procedures, Code of Ethics, and all licensing and accreditation standards of the position. Must represent the organization’s Mission in all actions and communications.

Cherry Health, Michigan’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), operates in six counties across the state, is based in Grand Rapids. With a team of more than 800 health care professionals at 20 locations, Cherry Health focuses on removing barriers, expanding access, and delivering comprehensive quality health care services to underserved communities, regardless of an individual’s insurance status or ability to pay. We provide primary care, dental, vision, behavioral health, pharmacy services, substance abuse services, school based health centers and more. This is a full time or part time benefit eligible position working at our 550 Cherry Street office..

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree, from an accredited college/university, in event or nonprofit management preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above. Four or more consecutive years of successful fundraising event planning and management experience in the nonprofit sector required. Three or more years of corporate giving generation required. Recruiting, organizing, and managing various fundraising project and goal-specific volunteers required. Reliable transportation required as this role will demand regular travel for work related tasks and events.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage a dynamic corporate partner program to deepen and enlarge the donor base, aligning philanthropic interests with the Foundation’s goals. Creatively plan, manage, and implement all Foundation events and tours to expand awareness, generate revenue, and steward stakeholders. Includes, but is not limited to, meaningful and impactful mission-centric event program development, writing content for and overseeing the design of speaker scripts, event materials, marketing, and communications, budget management, work plan monitoring, logistics, setup, execution, and teardown, plus evaluating the effectiveness of Foundation experiences. Collaborate with and support board members and other volunteers in related work with ongoing communications and engagement. Build relationships and work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, including event and fundraising volunteers, in a mutually satisfactory manner. Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current, past, and potential event sponsorships for renewed and increased fundraising, working closely with the Foundation Director, Board of Trustees, CEO and others as needed. Meet or exceed annual productivity goals, including meaningful moves/substantive contacts, gift proposals, gifts, and pledges. Manages all corporate funding relationships, including stewardship (e.g. ensures event and corporate donors are timely thanked, recognized, and moved through the appropriate stewardship plan). Play a role in accurate donor records and contacts, documenting event, sponsor, and other corporate donor strategies, substantive moves, and other pertinent information in the donor database. Work collaboratively and effectively with the Foundation team. Remain current with fundraising best practices and trends. Other duties as assigned.
