Medical Services staff understand and are committed to the unique health concerns of our student population, making us an unparalleled source of advocacy for student wellness The Medical Clinic provides a wide range of health care services for students including: primary care for illnesses and injuries, as well as chronic conditions, physicals, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, allergy shots, vaccinations, travel health care, and concussion care.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Provider Support/Patient Care/Customer Service: Adhere to established procedures for specimen collection, including conducting drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams. Complete the administration of oral solutions following training protocols. Carry out data entry and processing of specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as specified by test orders.  Assist with various clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, stocking supplies, and providing phone support. Aid in compiling and submitting monthly statistics and data reports. Maintain all relevant phlebotomy logs promptly and according to schedule, including maintenance logs and temperature records.  Become familiar with and adhere to departmental policies, protocols, and procedures outlined, ensuring staff compliance.  Conduct verification of patient demographic information and initials, including obtaining patient signatures post-venipuncture. Perform Point of Care testing at designated sites, undergoing requisite training and competency evaluations as required.  Deliver effective onboarding services to new Wardenburg staff members.  Promptly report safety concerns, accidents, incidents, and hazardous working conditions. LIS Documentation:  Document and ensure billing for students is correctly added in the laboratory LMS/LIS system. Assist in the adherence of the CLIA and AAAHC standards.

What You Should Know

This is an on call, in-person position whose working hours are during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm).

The hourly pay for this position is $24.38 – $27.38 per hour.

What We Require

High school diploma or GED. Phlebotomy certification from an accredited institution and one year of phlebotomy experience.
BLS certificate (upon hire or can be acquired within three months of hire).
