Position Summary
The Culinary Production Specialist I plays a crucial role in the preparation and cooking of cannabis-infused confections within the kitchen division. This position is responsible for adhering to the kitchen schedule, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and efficiently utilizing kitchen equipment and supplies. The specialist will foster professional relationships with external vendors and contractors while enhancing operational efficiency through the adoption of innovative technologies. The work environment involves exposure to high-temperature kitchen appliances, laboratory tools, and a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Adhere to established food safety protocols, recipes, and operational procedures.
- Comply with all GMP, HACCP, and quality assurance processes within the facility.
- Strictly follow departmental standard operating procedures, batch records, logs, and protocols.
- Assist in the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen area.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and laws related to cannabis-infused foods, including proper labeling and dosage standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper storage of cannabis-infused ingredients and cleanliness of utensils and equipment.
- Complete relevant training and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Possess a basic understanding of common allergens and their potential risks to consumers.
- Conduct scheduled autonomous maintenance tasks as required.
- Accurately log production data in a timely manner.
Supervisory Role
This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to be trained.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid MED Badge issued by the state.
- ServSafe Food Handler Certificate and/or Green Flower Certificate or ability to obtain qualifications within 30 days of employment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on efficiency, quality, and sanitation.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to operate basic machinery and develop necessary skills for equipment maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of relevant experience is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
Work Authorization
This position requires a valid state-issued license to work in the cannabis industry (e.g., MED Badge).
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly compensation based on experience starting at $23.00.

Position Type and Work Hours
This position is eligible for overtime pay and typically works standard business hours, Monday to Thursday, from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Travel is not anticipated.
Work Environment
This role operates in a warehouse and kitchen production environment where safety protocols must be strictly followed. The noise level is generally moderate to loud. Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Standard kitchen, laboratory, labeling, and packaging equipment will be utilized, including refrigerators, stoves, hot plates, rotary evaporators, gas chromatographs, vacuum pumps, and vacuum ovens.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently sets up heavy equipment, moves boxes, and other materials as necessary. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and carry hot liquids weighing up to 35 lbs. Attention to proper hygiene and adherence to a strict uniform code is essential.
