Summary
The Applications System Administrator I perform IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs supporting the company infrastructure business process and operations and/or network-based (cloud) product systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Monitors, troubleshoots, & supports Windows, Mac, Linux servers, Dell Compellent SAN, VMware, MS Exchange, and SharePoint Server
- Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, and supports operating systems, database or utilities software
- De-bug & resolve a variety of Windows & Linux server hardware & software problems. Debug hardware & software systems
- Troubleshoots and resolves network & server connectivity problems
- Sets up and installs new server hardware & software according to existing standards & procedures
- Provides technical & applications support to help desk staff. Provides systems administration & support for engineering systems (e.g., SolidWorks - EPDM, MSC Nastran & CATIA)
- Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of business problems with automated systems solutions
- Analyzes, designs, acquires, and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems. Plans, designs, acquires, and implements telecommunications voice/wire systems
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum 5 - 8 years' experience providing IT Systems Administration support (e.g., SolidWorks - EPDM, MSC Nastran & CATIA)
- Experienced configuring, installing, and supporting Windows Server OS and Red Hat
- Experienced maintaining Engineering applications (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, CAD) systems
- Demonstrates strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Demonstrates competency in providing guidance to lower-level Applications System Administrators and providing guidance/mentorship
- Consistently demonstrates teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
- Exhibits effective technical, problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments
- Demonstrates competency in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
- Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
- Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
