Job Description
The Senior Human Resources Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing HR programs, with a focus on training, development and engagement of staff/employees. This individual will have a passion for developing programs and strategies that support the staff and business needs to ensure that all training, development, employee-focused programs and initiatives align to enhance new hire experiences, additional engagement, professional development and belonging recognition efforts. The individual’s contributions will be focused on making a positive impact on new hires at the moment of on-boarding (i.e., at orientation) and act as a lead steward in facilitating, implementing and tracking consistent engagement, training and professional development activities for employees throughout their career at Felton Institute.

 

May assume responsibility for special projects related to Agency, Division, and Program functions per Chief People Officer.

 

Responsibilities

Develop methodologies for tracking and reporting outreach progress, liasing between relevant parties for development of procedural and implementation plans.

Drive successful delivery of staff/employee training, development and engagement projects, managing staff/employee participation and resources.

Lead trainings by facilitating and/or co-facilitating workshops and sessions, both in-person and virtual, requesting ASL interpreters as necessary.

Evaluate current training, development and engagement opportunities and resources.

Develop comprehensive project work plans and timelines, fostering team transparency and capturing insights for continuous improvement in an employee/staff’s life cycle at Felton Institute.

Construct communications, plans, and draft other internal content related to the learning experience that will be visible at all levels of the organization.

Leverage existing technologies to communicate, coordinate, promote and follow-up with learning communities, as well as research new tools to improve engagement.

Provide updates and status reports to the CPO the progress and effectiveness of executed and ongoing initiatives.

Conduct training needs analyses, as well as creating design, development, delivery, evaluation, record-keeping, and reporting for the HR department.

Management of Learning Management System (LMS) by documenting and training staff on system best practices and processes; addressing user inquiries; plan and implement system enhancements based on personal experience, user feedback and organizational goals; and research, review and recommend trainings based off individual/program and agency needs.

Work closely with management and employees to nurture a positive work environment, improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

Develop new initiatives and projects to enhance staff/employee experience, such employee resource group, program-specific engagement materials, etc.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

A minimum of 3 or more years of experience in an HR role or Degree in business, human resources management or related field

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience

Working knowledge of a variety of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, PowerPoint, Adobe)

Working knowledge of communication tools, such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom

Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

Time management skills

Event planning experience

Demonstrated ability to complete short- and long-term projects effectively and as efficiently as possible.

Ability to prioritize projects and follow through.

Ability to be a team player with a welcoming attitude.

Ability to cope with a high energy, intense work environment.

Ability to work primarily independently with direction and support.
