Job Title: AWS Java Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Developer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot to build and integrate cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have experience designing scalable, event-driven systems using AWS services and integrating enterprise-grade Java applications with modern cloud architectures.

Primary Skills


• Proficient in Java and Spring Boot for microservices and enterprise application development


• Experience with AWS Lambda for serverless function deployment


• API Gateway for RESTful API design and secure integrations


• Amazon SQS & SNS for asynchronous messaging and pub/sub systems


• EventBridge for event-driven architecture and service coordination


• Amazon S3 for object storage and lifecycle management


• Amazon Aurora for relational database design and optimization


• Familiarity with ERDC or enterprise-grade database systems

Advanced AWS Services:


• DynamoDB for NoSQL data modeling


• Step Functions for orchestration and workflow automation


• Kinesis for real-time data streaming


• CloudWatch & X-Ray for monitoring and distributed tracing


• AWS AppSync for GraphQL APIs and subscriptions


• Amazon MSK for managed Kafka streaming


• AWS Fargate for container orchestration


• Cognito for user authentication and authorization


• SES for email delivery and notifications

Secondary Skills


• Terraform for Infrastructure as Code


• CI/CD pipeline setup and automation


• Python for scripting and backend services

Key Responsibilities


• Develop and deploy scalable serverless and containerized applications using Java and AWS


• Design event-driven systems leveraging SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Kinesis


• Integrate enterprise Java applications with AWS services


• Build secure APIs using API Gateway and AppSync


• Implement data storage solutions with Aurora, DynamoDB, and S3


• Orchestrate workflows using Step Functions


• Monitor and optimize applications using CloudWatch and X-Ray


• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines


• Ensure code quality through automated testing and peer reviews


• Drive performance tuning and cost optimization across services"

The software engineer builds skills and expertise of his/her software engineering discipline to reach standard software engineer skills expectations for the applicable role, as defined in Professional Communities. 5. The software engineer collaborates and acts as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.
