Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations for a growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, healthcare reimbursement, and DME industry compliance. This role will oversee day-to-day financial activities, month-end close, and ensure accurate reporting in line with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting & Finance:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including AP/AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, factoring, and commissions.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Help Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

DME-Specific Duties:

  • Help monitor reimbursement trends, denials, and aging reports to identify and address revenue cycle issues.
  • Reconcile revenue recognition with claim payments and adjustments.

Team Management:

  • Lead and develop a small team of accounting staff.
  • Set performance goals and provide regular feedback and training.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment.

Systems & Reporting:

  • Utilize and manage accounting and billing software (e.g., QuickBooks, Brightree, or other DME systems).
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferrably with at least 2 years in a healthcare or DME environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare reimbursement principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with DME billing platforms such as Brightree, Fastrack, or HME/DME billing software.
  • Working knowledge of HCPCS codes, CMNs, and DMEPOS compliance requirements.
