Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in tax preparation, tax planning, and compliance, with a solid understanding of various financial and accounting principles. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing essential tax services to clients across diverse industries. The Tax Professional will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, advising clients on tax strategies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Duties

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and non-profit organizations
  • Conduct tax planning and consulting to optimize client financial positions
  • Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations, including SOX and other regulatory standards
  • Assist clients with estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law considerations
  • Perform detailed analysis of financial statements and reports using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial tools
  • Reconcile accounts, perform balance sheet reconciliation, and prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP and other standards
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data
  • Stay updated on changes in securities law, tax law, and financial regulations affecting clients
  • Collaborate with clients on mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, and asset management strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of all tax-related activities including account reconciliation and regulatory reporting

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of tax experience including corporate accounting, public accounting, non-profit accounting, and tax accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software tools
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits
  • Familiarity with securities law, auditing procedures, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), financial analysis & report interpretation
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively
  • Experience in estate planning (wills & trusts), regulatory reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconciliation with precision
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in financial statement preparation and budgeting processes
  • Knowledge of financial services including sales, investment strategies, asset management & private equity is a plus
  • Demonstrated technical accounting expertise along with sound financial acumen for advising clients on various financial planning matters
